About Bond's Papers

It is over thirty years since Mrs J M Bond wrote the original Bond's Papers, based upon her own considerable teaching experience. During this time they have been used by thousands of pupils in school and at home to practise, to learn and to prepare for tests and exams. They have now been updated to meet the needs of another generation of learners for well-structured, carefully-graded practice materials.

What do they cover?
The papers cover three subject areas for pupils aged from 7-11:

Maths
English
Reasoning

They can be used either at school, or at home by children working with their parents.

Why have they been so popular?
The Papers have been invaluable because they meet so many different learning needs. They can be used to:

develop general exam skills and prepare for selective exams such as 11+.
practise and consolidate all the basic skills.
identify strengths and weaknesses in learning.
help children catch up or get ahead.

Their success is also down to the content of the Papers:

coverage: they cover all the essential skills of a subject.
progression: they are very smoothly graded to ensure steady progress.
lots of practice: they provide a great deal of practice in the key skills - and each book contains many papers.
variety: each paper is different and tests an assortment of skills in different ways. This helps children gain the confidence to tackle unexpected questions in external exams.
simple, straightforward format: the tests are easy for children to do on their own, they are straightforward to mark and don't take too long.
exam preparation: they provide the ideal preparation for a range of exams.

What is in the new edition?
This new edition has been created to bring the Papers up-to-date with changes in the Curriculum - and to modernise the format. Maths and English are now fully in line with the National Curriculum, and Reasoning has been updated to reflect the changing style of modern reasoning exams. At the same time the key qualities of careful structure and grading, varied practice and ease of use have been retained.
